Mike Dumont

Mike has been a photographer all his life. He migrated to professional photography 25 years ago when he began doing weddings, portraits and commercial work. Mike has studied extensively at the New England Institute of Photography. Subjects included advanced portraiture, advanced Photoshop and Painter software techniques.

He has also studied with Helen Yancy, a world renowned expert in Corel Painter, at the New England Institute of Photography and at a workshop in Tuscany, Italy.

Mike has also studied at Maine Photographic Resources with Susan Burnstine in her "Creating a Personal Narrative" workshop.

In addition to landscapes, Mike enjoys photographing people and is available for commission work. In particular, his portrait work is focused on traditional black and white or Painter style color portraits printed on canvas. In some cases, Mike creates painter style images from existing photographs.

Recently, Mike opened up the Keag River Gallery in S. Thomaston, ME which is dedicated to photographic arts. The gallery also provides studio space for portrait and product sessions. In addition, the gallery provides printing and digital editing services.

Mike's work has been exhibited at galleries in California, Virginia and Maine along with online galleries.  He recently received a portfolio merit award from Black & White magazine and was displayed in their June 2015 portfolio magazine edition and also the single image award for 2016.
